Currently I have a set of wire rim glasses in the breast pocket of my lab coat. It is a prop for a Halloween costume and the lens, which was a strong prescription that made my head ache, have been removed. This constitutes the entire breadth of my eyeglasses experience.

If I were to buy a set of prescription glasses it would need to be an easy process that I could manage at my own leisure and do so for a cost that was reasonable. I've heard it told that a single pair of prescription lens set in a stylish frame can cost $300 and up. Can people afford to have a second pair of glasses at that price? I imagine losing your glasses could put you in a steep financial crisis.

Zenni Optical would be my choice. They don't offer name brand glasses. They make their own. As such there is no middle man, no extra cost margins figured in. You by directly from the manufacturer. Them.

As an online reseller, they also don't have to pay for a lease on a store front or other conventional office costs. You put in some information regarding your prescription and get a pair of glasses in about 2 weeks made especially for you.

The cost? $8 and up. Seems like a clear choice to me.

O look, another Geeky Gadgets Site on the Internet. As you know I absolutely adore gadgets. On this site I specifically look for the most unusual and amusing items in the vast sea of labor saving devices. Some days that will that be the ridiculous world of weight loss equipment or the overstocked kitchen gadget industry. Some days it might just be something completely absurd!

Today I found a site featuring loads of geeky gadgets and products. Like this rather quirky car bandage magnet. Some times you just have to laugh at your own circumstances. For me personally I could do with one of these as my car is completely, well broken in. Instead of trying to hide the obvious fact of your worn automobile, why not just the the offense and make light of your well used wheels! I great head turner!

In addition to all the pages of cool gadget and gizmos they also have a how host of other things. Like great deals. Like bargains on business cards with Vistaprint coupons, or discounts to every gadget lovers Mecca with an Apple Store coupon.

So I got wind of this new auction website and it's not quite what I was expecting. I've been an Internet Jock since the Mosaic days and think I'd seen it all until this idea hit me. The site is called bidrack and it's basically a penny auction, but there is a bit of a twist.

First off, you can't sell on Bidrack. It's seems to be a overstock retailer. They sell only new items and let users bid on them. You buy "bids" and it allows you to raise the price of the item.

Secondly you can only raise the item price by one penny at a time. That's right one penny raised for new user each bid. This does two things. Each bid resets the auction length 10 seconds and it also keeps the price wars down as it takes hundred bids to raise the price $1.

In just logging on and watching auctions for about ten minutes or so I saw a new wireless Kindle sell for $32.15. I also saw a 4GB mp3 player go for $1.65. That there is some serious savings on both though items!

You do have to 'buy' your bids and add that to the cost of the purchases. Though Bidrack also holds penny auctions for their bid packs. All in all I can imagine a significant amount of savings over the retail cost of any item purchased. Even more so if you find an item that few are bidding on. A real reality as the popularity of the site grows and the number of offers increases.

I've registered and will begin looking for a few products that might fit into this gadget lovers life. See you out there and happy bidding!!

Looking back on grade school I am reminded of kids who's parents had to pay for glasses. It was an expensive proposition.

One day friend of mine named Tim was playing with us on the playground. We were engaging in some sport when we all heard a sickening crunch! Tim's glasses had fallen off and he had run right over them and shattered them. He was horrified, and then he began to cry. His parents had told him they could not afford another pair of glasses and had been very insistent on keep this pair safe from harm. I doubt his folks were too pleased at his return home that evening.

And who honestly could keep replacing glasses at three hundred dollars a pair? I know I couldn't. So then, what is the alternative? You could buy a pair off the shelf I suppose but they will not match your prescription and you could end up doing more damage than good. We were out talking, drinking coffee and listening to The Cure. Eddie also has a musical bent towards long opera arias and Enya. I generally discouraged that behavior, as it caused me great discomfort and the overwhelming urge to douse his CD player in my mocha. All in all it was a pretty normal Friday night for us coast dwellers. We would stop at the various beaches and look for bonfires and parties.

After about two o'clock or so, we would call it a night and head back inland to Santa Rosa. One of us driving the winding road and the other looking out for suicidal deers trying to end it all on the hood.

That night, though we go hid by something else. A pack of high school kids. They sideswiped us on on a tight turn and sent our car into the cliff side. After we recovered enough to realize what had happened and found that the Acura was still in a drivable condition we located a place to turn around and follow the offenders.

Once we caught up and checked that nobody was hurt, we found out that no one was insured. Great. This of course was bad news for Eddie and also Eddies parents, but it was probably worse news for these folks. Driving a vehicle in California without auto insurance is illegal. This is true of many states. If you are pulled over and are unable to prove that you have insurance you can get a hefty fine. If you have an at fault accident without insurance you could even be facing jail time.

All for not making a simple call and getting insurance. Thought it was too expensive before? Well I bet those folks wished they had spent five minutes checking out cheap-autoinsurance.com. Could have saved them court time, expensive fines and possible time. All for something that is both easy and affordable. No one has to go without insurance, when the solution is so simple.

Take paint ball for example. First you have to find some paintball guns for sale. This site has everything you could possibly need for a day of paint ball.
